| Upper eyelid fullness gives the effect of a tired run down appearance. It can be caused by brow droop (ptosis), excess skin, excess fat or any combination of the three. Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is a common procedure that I perform in our surgical suite. Patients from all over the Tampa, Florida and surrounding areas travel to our office for improvement of their upper and lower eyelids. The upper eyelid skin, fat, and sometimes muscle is either removed or repositioned to achieve a natural appearance. My main objective is to achieve a natural firmer eyelid with the appropriate amount of fat and skin to provide a more youthful appearance.
Sometimes I may combine upper eyelid blepharoplasty with lower lid blepharoplasty and/or forehead lift (browlift) for maximal rejuvenation. Other times I may utilize eyelid laser resurfacing for skin tightening. Lower Eyelids
Lower eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is often combined with upper lid blepharoplasty to get optimal results. Many times the lower lids sag and bulge adding to the tired or sad look patients complain about when coming for an evaluation by me. The lower lid skin, fat, and sometimes muscle needs to be excised or repositioned to enhance the lower lids without giving a sunken or hollowed out appearance. This is one of the areas of the face that I take great enjoyment in rejuvenating. There are countless methods for rejuvenating the lower lids. In optimizing the outcome for you I take into account your facial structures and in particular eyelid anatomy. In fact, nearly 75% of my facial evaluation goes into examining your eyelid and brow region. I believe it is this attention to detail that gives beautiful results with minimal chance of dry eyes and unnatural appearance.
